Acute pulmonary embolism in a patient with neuroleptic malignant syndrome

چکیده

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a life-threatening complication seen in psychiatric patients exposed to antipsychotic medications. NMS associated with medication dopamine antagonist action. The typical tetrad of symptoms includes fever, muscle rigidity, altered mental status and autonomic dysfunction. Acute pulmonary embolism one the major complications diagnosed neuroleptic symptoms. Here we present case report 64 years old female history illness, presented rigidity have NMS. Later her condition was complicated by embolism. She treated bromocriptine heparin infusion improved symptomatically.
